A husband, father, pastor, and community leader, Dr. John Campbell has dedicated his adult life to serving people. John is a life-long resident of Robeson County. From an early age, John learned the importance of faith, family, hard work, service and patriotism.
John was educated at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Duke Divinity School. He is currently the Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Marietta, North Carolina.
While administering an expansive Church program, John has enjoyed a broad preaching ministry for thirty-eight years. A former Executive Director of the North Carolina and the Robeson County Human Relations Commissions, he has long been identified with the struggle for human justice. He is twice the former Chairman of the Board of Education for the Public Schools of Robeson County and is currently in his 23rd year as an at-large member.
John is a tireless community servant who has worked with many civic and community organizations. Some of his affiliations include being a member of the Nu Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Board of Directors of United Way of Robeson County, the Board of Directors of the Robeson County Communities-In-Schools Program and Golden Leaf Lodge # 124. Furthermore, he is an experienced freelance writer, a newspaper columnist and the former host of a weekly television talk show.
John is married to Constance Williams Campbell, a retired educator. They are the parents of four grown children.
John is running for the NC Senate because he believes the people of the 13th District need and deserve a Senator who will listen to them, take their concerns to Raleigh, and work hard for them every day.
